If you could read...

Post by Anita on Sat Feb 18, 2012 7:55 pm

Hi, guys!! Hi
study I haven't had enough time to read for pleasure. I wish I can do it again and soon, though. I haven't finished a book I started last December. What I know is that, once I finish it, I want to start reading a book by Colombian author Germán Castro Caycedo, Objetivo 4 (Objective 4), which narrates the fantastic police operations in order to locate a very important member of the guerrilla group FARC, a narcoparamilitary member, and two other wanted men who were involved in narcotraffic and violence. Its narration, people say, is captivating! Yes!

What book would you like to read soon? If there's no specific book in mind, what kind of book are you keen on reading as soon as you can? Static

What's the book about? What's the style of the book?

Oh, it usually happens. Friends promising to lend you something, but they're just promises. Well, I hope you can get the book anyway. Is it too old?

Well, I'm reading by intermittent time, a book about photography called El Beso de Judas by Joan Fontcuberta spanish photographer. Discusses the question if the photography should be realistic or fanciful, and how far we reach the limits of these two options when it comes to being creative.
I hope to finish reading it soon. Peace

Wow! It seems like a fun and very informative book!! We'll be waiting for the end! Cheesy
Is it an illustrated book, as well???

Ahhh! You reminded me of my frustrated wishes of learning to take good pics. You're already my hero, my Camera Girl!! Wink

Laughing All of us here are busy people, so we haven't had the chance to read continuously. Hopefully, we'll finish soon!!

Fantastic!! It seems like a promising book!!
It's great when we can read things related to our hobbies, profession and passion. Sadly, sometimes we have some literature imposed and, despite being total treasures, the fact it's compulsory kills the magic. Sad

Have you heard of it?

Hi, Nicole! Hi
The musical is based on Victor Hugo's book. There are also films based on the book and the musical. Indeed, if I'm not wrong, there's a big screen version of the musical coming soon. Just watching one series made me feel like reading the book, it's really touching!! And it has also made me change my mind about helping others. When knowing the story, you'll understand why. I absolutely recommend it!! Yay! Yes!

From the musical, a song I really love is I Dreamed a Dream. Have you ever listened to it?

It's got different versions. This is one of them.

The new film version has this song sung by actress Anne Hathaway. This is sung by Fantine, Cosette's mum, when she longs to be with her child.

I've never seen the musical. Has the musical ever been in your local theatre, Nicole? Question
Has it ever been here in Colombia, GrumpyElf? Question

I guess I´d love to see it!!! Yay!

It has been in Germany but not near by me. Sad

I think it hasn't been produced in Colombia, either. I've just started reading the book, and I've got to say it's hooked me! Yay! The story is sad and touching!!

I'd like to read a new book these days after finishing Les Misérables, which, as I can see, I'll finish in no time. Razz
